the Master
The primary objective of the EMJM Janus is to cultivate expert analysts proficient in understanding and actively contributing to the fields of Security and Defence. The programme distinguishes itself by embodying three key pillars:

Four-Semester Structure
The master unfolds over four semesters, each contributing to a well-rounded education:

First Semester (France)
Hosted by Jean Moulin Lyon 3 University, this semester focuses on the fundamentals of Security and Defence, coupled with language acquisition and intercultural skill development.
Second Semester (Lebanon)
Conducted at Saint-Joseph University of Beirut, Lebanon, this semester delves into Security and Defence issues in the Middle East, providing regional insights.

Third Semester (Consortium Universities)
Taking place in one of the other three universities in the consortium, this semester allows students to specialize in a particular area of security or defence.
Fourth Semester (Internship or Research)
Dedicated to either an internship or the development of a research paper, offering practical experience or academic exploration.
Admission Criteria and Credits
The EMJM Janus welcomes students holding a bachelor’s degree in international relations, law, political science, criminology, or strategic intelligence. The master programme is credited with 120 ECTS credits and holds accreditation from the prestigious Erasmus Mundus programme.
